Welcome to Surgoinsville Middle

Hawkins County Schools' graduates are prepared for college and career to enable them to become productive citizens and successful members of the workforce.  Hawkins County Schools recognizes that when families are engaged in their children's education, the students achieve higher grades, have better attendance and behavior, complete more homework and demonstrate a more positive attitude toward school. We believe that building meaningful and authentic partnerships with our families and communities is the best way to ensure our students' success in school, careers and life.

Message from Mr. Roberson
Dear Parents and/or Guardians,

I hope that everyone is enjoying the start of summer vacation with your child or children.  Although we did not end this school year like a normal school year, I want to say thank you to SMS parents/guardians, students, and teachers for all that you have done during the time of closure. I look forward to beginning the 2020 - 2021 school year in August as close to normal as we can.
If you would like to view grade report cards for the 2019-2020 school year, parents and/or students can log in to their Skyward account and look under portfolio to see saved grade report cards. As we move closer to the start of a new school year, please continue to encourage your child to read each day and practice multiplication facts and solving problems involving fractions.
Please continue to monitor the district website as well as the Surgoinsville Middle School website for current and updated information as we approach the start of a new school year.  Also, current and updated information will be displayed on the Hawkins County Schools' Facebook page and the Surgoinsville Middle School Facebook pages as it becomes available.

Sincerely,

Rodney Roberson, Principal
