Quick Course Summary:
Students identified as English language learners will have class daily with me for 30 minutes - 60 minutes focusing on listening, reading, writing, and speaking tasks. Students may also work on skills, such as reading comprehension, reading fluency, grammar, vocabulary, literary devices, figurative language, and expressive writing. Students may also have lessons related to their core class subjects, such as science, social studies, and ELA. Students' learning also is based on their individualized learning plans.

Important Dates:
Meetings for continuing English language learner students to review their Individual Learning Plan (ILP) will take place the fist two weeks of September 2024. Parents/guardians are not required to attend, but it is highly encouraged that they do so. All parents/guardians will receive notes from the meetings.
The ELPA 21 English language proficiency assessment for the 2024–2025 school year in Tennessee will be administered from February 3–March 28, 2025. The assessment is given to students in grades K–12 who are identified as English learners (ELs).
