This year in the SMS Library...
5th and 6th Graders...
Will focus on finding and selecting books for personal use. They will develop an appreciation of literature in multiple genres.
Will learn how to use the library, as well as the online catalog.
Will learn digital citizenship skills.
Will develop their writing and research skills.
Will become proficient users of Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Sheets.
Will explore computer programming concepts.
And they will learn about the impacts of computing on their society.
7th and 8th Graders...
Will have daily lessons based on the Tennessee State Computer Science Standards for Middle School Students.
Will learn foundational concepts of computing.
Will become algorithmic thinkers.
Will analyze data.
Will learn about networking and the internet.
Will explore computer programming concepts.
And they will learn about the impacts of computing on their society.
Google Classroom
Students will join the Library/Computer Science Google classroom. This is where class announcements will be made. Also, class assignments will be found in the Google Classroom.
